Our Unlimited 2-Week Trial is the perfect way to get started at Emerald City Karate.
It’s our honor to introduce you to the culture of the Karate Dojo during your trial.
You will have the opportunity to meet our friendly instructors and try out our classes with no obligation to enroll in further classes.
This two-week trial is a great way to see if our school is the right place for you. Our trial includes Unlimited training sessions for 2 weeks, a dojo T-shirt, and a white belt for ONLY $29.99. You can wear our dojo T-shirt as your trial uniform or you can purchase a regular Karate Uniform at the front desk at any time!

What To Do Before Your Trial:
✓ Check out our schedule to see which class works best for you.
✓ Call us at (206) 437-3932 or Email us at emeraldcitykarate@gmail.com for more information about classes and monthly memberships.
✓ Please let us know if you or your child has any special circumstances that we should know about.

✓ To better prepare yourself for the culture of the dojo, it’s a great idea to study how to count from 1 to 10 in Japanese before your first class. Check out our video here.
What to do on the day of your first class:
✓ Face masks are recommended at Emerald City Karate. Please bring your facemask if you would like to train with a facemask on.
✓ Dress in clothes that are suitable for working out. We recommend sweats and a T-Shirt. Note: You’ll likely wear our dojo T-Shirt during class as a trial uniform.
✓ Arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time of your first class so we can give you your Dojo T-shirt, and white belt, and introduce you to your instructor.
✓ No Shoes. Please remember that shoes are not allowed on the mat but you are welcome to walk along with the black mat in the back of the room if you need to use the restroom at any time even in shoes.
✓ Respect. Please show respect to all instructors and students at all times. We start showing respect as soon as we walk into the dojo. Please be quiet while entering and leaving the karate school. Before and after you step onto the mat please demonstrate your dedication to this respect by bowing towards the front of the room as is the custom in Japan.
✓ Quiet Please. Parents should also demonstrate respect by maintaining a quiet learning environment at the dojo. Please refrain from talking on the phone or having distracting conversations during class. It is also good form to stand silently during the opening and closing ceremony of each class. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in supporting the proper etiquette of a Karate school.
How to sign up for Two week trial In-person
- Please reserve your spot on our reservation page called Bookwhen before coming into your first class. https://bookwhen.com/emeraldcitykarate
- Select the class you would like to attend and type all the information on the Bookwhen page.
- Select ‘planning to sign up two-week trial in-person at the front desk’ under the types of new students.
- Please come in 10-15 minutes before your first class to set up your two-week trial in person and give you a dojo T-shirt and white belt.
How to sign up for our Two Week Trial online
Existing Customers
1. Click the button below to go to our member log-in page.
2. Click ‘signup’ from the left navigation bar. Click the red “sign up” button to select the two-week trial membership for the correct age group.
- Little Dragons class is for ages 4 to 6 years old.
- Youth & Family class is for ages 7 & older.
- Teens & Adults class is for ages 13 & older.
3. Since you already have an account with our software, Zen Planner, please click “Already a member? Click here to log in” to log into your account.
4. Type your email address and password associated with our software, Zen Planner to log in.
Forgot your password? No problem.
Click ‘Forgot your password?’ to issue a new password. Zen Planner will email a reset code to your email address associated with the software and you can create a new password from the link with the reset password email.
5. After you’re logged in, please click sign up from the left navigation bar. Click the red “sign up” button to select the two-week trial membership for the correct age group.
6. Since you’re logged in, all of your personal information will be shown. Please update your personal information if needed. After you fill in all the necessary information, click the ‘Continue’ button at the bottom of the page.
7. Please select the person who will be using the two-week trial membership and fill out the credit card information to pay. After the transaction is complete, you’ll receive a welcome email from the software.

7. After the transaction is complete, you’ll receive a welcome email from the software.

Frequently Asked Questions
For Little Dragons (Ages 4 – 6), you’re welcome to join our classes anytime. All students in our Little Dragons class should be at least 4 years old. Parents are welcome to join the class to help support any shy youngsters.
For Youth & Family (Ages 7 & Older), Teens, and Adults we hold belt tests in January, May, and September. It’s best to join no later than 2 months before the upcoming belt test. This will help ensure you will be ready to rock during your first belt test! Please contact us if you have any questions about when would be a good time to sign up!

Yes, reserving your spots for our karate classes is required. We always try to accommodate students who haven’t reserved a spot in class whenever possible. However, if there is not enough space to fit all the participants, we might have you attend a different class or a different day.
