It is with much regret that we announce that we will be temporarily suspending our in-person classes at the dojo in order to comply with Center for Disease Control guidelines for the Seattle area for large scale social distancing. This decision was not an easy one to make. The safety of our students, staff, and community are our number one priority.
This temporary closure is expected to last two weeks. We hope to be back in action for the week of Monday, March 30th. However, things may change as we are all facing uncharted territory so please bear with us if unknown circumstances change future plans.
We will be doing our best to provide videos and study material for our students to polish their skills at home via a ‘cyber-dojo.’ We will be sending out the first week of our ‘cyber-dojo’ material soon so stay tuned.
Once the dojo is open again, students are welcome to come to the dojo more often to make up for classes missed. Furthermore, we will extend our students’ memberships to match the time that the dojo was closed due to the coronavirus so our students will be able to utilize all the time on their memberships. We are only able to pay the dojo rent thanks to the support of your memberships. We are humbled and honored to serve your families and will do our best to provide good instruction online in spite of the challenging circumstances.
We also may try planning an outdoor exclusively kata training session at a local park. This way we can practice our forms without any contact and can maintain proper distance between ourselves at all times.
We truly are thankful for the unending support of our students.
Emerald City Karate is our family! Be safe out there!
